In this shoot I went to a tunisian market near my house and I made the aspect repetition, however the aspect could also easily be colour as I noticed a lot of bright colours when I was there. I was most intrigued by the different foods in the streets which had so many colours just hanging down from a ceiling and just out in the open. I didn't take a lot of pictures in this shoot as it was a really busy area and it was very hard to stand in the middle of a narrow street and take pictures with 10's of people bustling past you. However I feel like the pictures I did manage to get in this shoot were very good and some of my favourites to date.
In this image I took a picture of chillis which were being left out to dry out, they were against a white wall. In this image I turned up the curves so that the white of the wall was gleaming white which made the chillis really stand out with their deep red. I really focused on the composition of this picture when it came to taking it as I wanted their to be a clear contrast between colour, I think I did this well as it seems like the image is half and half. This image displays repetition because of the mass of chillis in one place.
In this image I took a picture of spices in sacks which were placed down a street. This is my most favourite picture i have ever completed, because i love how depth was produced, i love the effect of the spices being sharp at the beginning of the image however as it continues the spices seem to just become a blur of colours. Through this effect repetition is created as it suggests that there are loads of the spices. In this image I turned the exposure of the image up as I loved the colours within the image and therefore wanted them to be really bright and stand out to the audience.
Progression
In my next shoot I will be back in England, I will not be continuing with repetition however i think I would like to continue with the aspect of Summer, however it will be spring, this creating a portfolio of seasons , I got this idea from the research of one of my favourite photographers David Farrer who also does this and has influenced me into following in his footsteps. Due to it going to be spring I may decided to keep or exclude the colour of the image depending on the weather, through this i hope to create an emotive image.
