Decay #3 Work Diary

Within this shoot I was in Tunisia and I knew there was an old colosseum not far from my house therefore I decided it would be a great photographic experience. in previous shoots I have used the aspect of decay quite a lot and I have enjoyed shooting it as I think it is quite original within landscape photography. When I visited the colosseum it was brewing a way at parts and the bricks are very old, noting tourists that it has been there for a while. Through broken gates, crumbled walls and the dusty flooring you can tell it is decaying, creating a really nice rustic vibe. The only thing that ruined this place and some of the photographs is they have put in bars or the tourists, however despite this I think this was a great photographic adventure.

In this image i shot a door with a gate and one without, I zoomed in on this image so at both the left and right of the image you can see the gate and the door without a gate. I really like this image as due to my composition I think this has created contrast. In this image I turned the curves up so it went a ting of orange, this then displaying the rustic view that I want and enforcing the aspect of decay. I like how this image is quite empty and I did use the zoom highlighting the two openings as i didn't get any tourists in or anymore of the colosseum in, therefore only letting the audience to see what I want them to see.

In this image I did a multiple imagery piece of various viewpoints of the colosseum, this showing the expanse of it and showing that the decay runs throughout the entirety it. I did not edit the individual pictures within this image (I didn't even turn the curves up or edit the exposure) as I preferred it natural and allows the eyes to see it how it would be seen if my audience were to go and see it. The only thing I don't like about this image is the middle column bottom row image , as i don't think it fits in with what I was trying to convert (which was the viewpoints) however it doesn't ruin the picture.

Progression

In my next shoot I will still be in Tunisia therefore I will again take advantage of being able to take pictures of what I wouldn't see in England, therefore there will be no connection between this shoot. My next shoot will be of a tunisian market and I will make the aspect repetition as there will be a lot of the same thing being shown.
